Continuing Medical Education

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) Office within the College of Human Medicine (CHM) has provided continuing medical education activities since the office originally was established in 1976. The CME Office presently serves four major functions:

  • Administrative Oversight: Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Compliance
    The CME Office provides administrative oversight regarding ACCME compliance for the CME program as well as individual CME activities.
  • Accreditation Services
    Under the guidance of the CME Committee, the CME Office is responsible for reviewing, making recommendations, and approving CME activity proposals put forth by CHM faculty.
  • Activity Development and Planning Unit
    In partnership with CHM faculty and other individuals and organizations, the CME Office provides CME activities for College faculty, community physicians, and physicians nationally.
  • Records
    The CME Office is the unit responsible for maintaining CME records and files for all ACCME accredited activities.
