Charge of faculty honorifics committee

  • The charge of the faculty honorifics Committee is to provide recognition for deserving faculty by seeking award opportunities and coordinating nominations for institutional, national, and international awards utilizing the assistance of other college faculty or faculty from other institutions, as appropriate.
  • The committee shall work with the university honorifics coordinator to identify faculty that may be eligible for national and international awards. The university honorifics coordinator will help the committee by identifying faculty that are eligible for various awards. The committee members may then work with the university honorifics coordinator to shepherd the award nomination through.
  • The committee will elect 2 co-chairs (each co-chair must come from different geographical locations, and one must be from clinical and the other must be from non-clinical areas).
  • The duties of the co-chairs of the faculty honorifics committee shall include (1) acting on behalf of the committee and together with the members in scheduling committee meetings, (2) developing agenda for committee meetings, (3) conducting the business of the committee, and (4) reporting to the CAC.
  • The committee shall report to CAC no less than once a year and shall meet at least twice a year.

Faculty Honorifics Committee

• Members will serve a 2-year term.
• Need to elect 10 members (at least 2 from East Lansing, 2 from Grand Rapids and 2 from Flint; also, at least 3 clinical and 3 non-clinical)
• Meets at least twice a year via Zoom.
